Dr. Marianna Trekell was a decorated leading figure in physical education. With her innumerous speeches, writing, and research throughout her life showing the passion and dedication she had for her profession. The collection contains correspondence, printed materials, news articles, glass transparencies, slides, photographs, and a video tape. There is information on the Women's Division of the National Amateur Athletic Federation, (ca. 1920-1940), materials from the first national women's collegiate golf tournament that took place at the Ohio State University in 1941, questionnaires and information on Gertrude E. Moulton for Dr. Trekell’s dissertation, and photographs, slides, and transparencies on important figures in Physical Education, Women’s Athletics, and Physical Education for Women during the early part of the 20th Century. Some of the important individuals represented are Mabel Lee, Rachel Bryant, and Celeste Ulrich.
