Theses, Dissertations, & Projects: Information for Students & Alumni

Information for Students & Alumni

Library Services collects digital copies of theses, dissertations, and research projects produced by Springfield College students. Questions about Library Service’s collection of these documents can be sent to Patrick Hartsfield at jhartsfield@springfield.edu or 413-748-3784.

Theses & Dissertations

All official theses and dissertations are submitted to and processed by the Office of Academic Affairs. Procedures and more information are available on the PrideNET Thesis / Dissertation Submission page. Questions about submission and requirements may be directed to scthesis@springfieldcollege.edu.

Once completed, Academic Affairs provides Library Services with a digital copy of the document. The contents are verified and the document is permanently stored in our digital archive, and is also made available online as part of our digital collections. The student will receive a final official digital copy along with instructions on how to order bound copies of their thesis or dissertation for personal use.

Research Projects

Library Services collects research projects from selected programs and makes them available online as part of our digital collections. We currently accept approved research projects from the following programs: Art Therapy, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Physical Education and Health Education Independent Studies, and Educational Studies. Check with your program for details on approval and submission procedures if you are interested in having your project added to our digital collections.

Personal Bound Copies

Students wishing to have a professionally bound copy of their thesis or dissertation for personal use may order them online at https://www.thesisondemand.com/ using the digital file we sent and a credit card.

Thesis On Demand offers several customization options. You are free to choose any options you wish, but the options we recommend to conform to Springfield College specifications are:

  • Cover material - cloth
  • Cover color - maroon for theses, black for dissertations
  • Spine printing - Title, last name
  • Front cover printing - Title, full name, year
  • Lettering color - gold
  • Printing style - single sided
  • Signature pages - none (they are already included in the PDF file)

For questions or if problems arise when placing an order, view the FAQ (https://www.thesisondemand.com/faq/) or contact HF Group at 800-334-3628 or tod@hfgroup.com.
