Monday, April 14 - Thursday, April 17, 2025
This event is designed to showcase undergraduate scholarship at Springfield College.
It is an opportunity for undergraduate students to share their hard work with the Springfield College community.
We are proud to be celebrating 21 years of this great event!
Scholars in Action occurs over four days and is an entirely in-person event. (See schedule of events below). You can return to the Registration Form to submit your Abstract/Presentation Description by the April 9th deadline.
Please Note: If you miss the registration deadline, we cannot guarantee that your work will be included in the program, or be a part of the evaluation process for prizes. Use this form to register your project.
Please talk to your faculty sponsor if you anticipate problems meeting this deadline.

Sessions are scheduled to conform with the regular class schedule, including the community hours. The schedule will be finalized and shared with the college community shortly after the registration deadline on April 10th.
Faculty, if you have specific requests for when you would like your students to present their work, please contact Matt Ferrari at mferrari@springfield.edu.
Tuesday's poster presenters will have a space and boards to present their poster in the Fieldhouse, and flatscreen TV's will be available for multimedia works to be shown. All student participants (posters & multimedia presenters) should expect to be present for the full period of their assigned session (corresponding to one regular class schedule), in order to respond to questions about their work from judges and attendees. If students are working in a group and all members cannot attend, at least one student must be in attendance.
Awards & Swag! All poster and paper presenters will be evaluated by faculty and staff judges, with first and second place prizes being announced in each category on Thursday during the community hour. Prize winners will receive an official certificate, not to mention having a great line to add to their resume/cv! Evaluation rubrics used by judges are available for all to view within the "Information for Faculty" tab of this website. Lastly, all attendees will also receive a Scholars in Action Days 2025 shirt!
Undergraduate research experiences have been shown to be a high impact educational practice, and a part of that impact stems from the community of support and feedback available to these students. This is where you come in! Everyone in the Springfield College community, including family members of presenters, are encouraged to attend. For poster sessions, you are encouraged to circulate and view posters, offering comments or questions for presenters. For oral presentations, you will have the opportunity to listen to presentations, then offer feedback in the Q&A to follow. Light breakfast fare and refreshments will also be available for participants and attendees during the Tuesday and Wednesday sessions.
General questions about the Scholars in Action Days can be sent to Matt Ferrari, Coordinator of Student Research.
Questions about content in the online program can be sent to Alli Martel, Digital Technologies Librarian.
For questions about your project type, category, or abstract, please contact your faculty sponsor.
