The Springfield College Archives and Special Collections, located in the lower level of Judd Gymnasia, houses a rich collection of materials documenting the history of Springfield College from its first days as the School for Christian Workers and the International YMCA Training School to the present day. In addition to institutional and alumni records, there are special collections of rare books, publications, and manuscripts focused on the areas of the birth and history of basketball, physical education, physical training, the YMCA, Olympic movements, and amateur and recreation sports.

The reading room in the College Archives and Special Collections is currently open by appointment only. Appointments can be scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Contact the College Archivist, Jeffrey Monseau, to arrange an appointment or to discuss research and resources. Please note that masks are required in the College Archives regardless of vaccination status.
