College Archives Digital Collections

The College Archives Digital Collections is a collection of photographic prints and documents drawn from the Springfield College Records and the Manuscript Collections held in the Springfield College Archives and Special Collections. Images and documents speak to Springfield College athletics; faculty, staff, and students; the campus and buildings, events including alumni reunions, homecoming, and on campus conferences; student life; and Springfield College Presidents. Also included are photographs and other documents that document the YMCA movement in the United States and around the world, the development of Physical Education and Sport, the Olympic Movement, and the creation and early history of Basketball and Volleyball. Of particular interest are images and documents from the collections of Dr. James NaismithDr. Luther GulickWilliam G. Morgan, and materials from the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) records.
