Dr. English began his time at Springfield College in 1969 and brought with him significant involvement in the City of Springfield. He was Director of Social and Psychological Services Unit of the Bureau of Pupil Services at the Springfield Public School district and Director of Office of Intergroup Relations for the City. He retired in 1979. Dr. English was awarded the Eyes on the Prize Award by WGBY Channel 57 in Springfield. He died in 1998.
