Professor of Psychology
After working for the FCC and the Office of War Information during World War II, Dr. Arsenian came to Springfield College in 1945 as the Director of Guidance and Personnel Services division. Born in Armenia, Arsenian was well connected with the YMCA internationally. He served as Chairman of the Advisory Council on Guidance and Counseling for the Massachusetts Department of Education and was the Chairman of the National Committee that wrote a Code of ethics for the American Personnel and Guidance Association in 1961. In 1959 he became the Director of Graduate Study at Springfield College. Dr. Arsenian retired in 1969 and was awarded an honorary degree Doctor of Humanics by the College in 1973. He died in San Diego in 1988.
