She would go on to spend the rest of her 30-plus year teaching career as a valued and respected member of the faculty, and was awarded emeritus status upon her retirement. An expert in research and statistics, she was an editor for the Measurement in Physical Education and Exercise Science (MPEES) journal. Dr. Jensen was also a western Massachusetts native, and was greatly involved in her home community of Brimfield; she was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sturbridge and coached youth soccer in both Hampden and Brimfield for many years. She also taught many to swim and downhill ski over her lifetime, and she participated in the Senior Games both locally as well as nationally. Dr. Jensen retired from Springfield in 2000 and died in 2020.
