Open Access?
So what is open access, anyway? Here's a quick presentation that will clear it up a little bit, and outline some of the possibilities and challenges open access presents.
Open Access Resources
- Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)A huge, searchable directory of tens of thousands of open access academic journals.
- Arxiv.orgA massive archive of user-submitted papers in math, physics, computer science, quantitative biology, quantitative finance, statistics, electrical engineering and systems science, and economics.
- OpenDOARA directory of open-access repositories, usually at universities.
- PubMed CentralThe Open Access section of PubMed--all studies funded by U.S. government grants must post a manuscript here.
- PLoS (Public Library of Science)A highly-regarded set of open access scientific journals.
- BioMedCentralA publisher of several high quality open access publications in life sciences, health, and chemistry.
