Overview - Researching Funders

Looking for clues as to whether you picked the right organization to apply to?  Find the projects an organization is currently funding.  Does  your proposal seem like it might be on a topic they have shown a demonstrated interest in?  

Major foundations may list their current and recent grantees on their websites or in their annual reports.  For mid-size and smaller foundations  you can find grantee names and award amounts on their Form 990 (see below). Many government agencies have search tools you can use to locate current and recent grant recipient information.
