As social media becomes integrated into everyday life, its impact on the social and emotional well-being of college kids remains a critical study for many. This research examines the nature of social media and its ability to foster connections to mental health struggles and a strain on people's relationships. Through case studies and questionnaires with college students, this study explores how social media influences feelings of belonging, self-esteem, and emotional well-being due to qualitative and quantitative research. The findings highlight both positive aspects and negative consequences. This paper provides insights into the relationship between social media use and mental health and offers recommendations for healthier social media use.
