Doom Scrolling into a Brand New Society

Day and Time:
Wednesday: 12:00-12:50pm
Description:

This is a Conference Paper about how short-form content changed the landscape of social media and society. With the intention of seeing how it impacts the age of college students, Andrew Testa and Kyle Valentine are the researchers conducting a survey. This research aims to further analyze the impacts of short-form content in many ways, with the target audience being college students. College students have grown up with the newest technology and know more about social media than any other generation. This is also done for the Springfield College, Media, Culture and Society (COMM 320-21) course with Professor Fadia Nordtveit. The findings found throughout this Conference Paper answer our question about the different effects and sides of short-form content. The 19 pages of this academic paper include methodologies, literature review, all findings/analyses, and more. We dive deep into each of the findings and pull quotes from the questionnaire and our sources that we find intriguing and relevant to the topic, "as social media continues to rise, how has short-form content changed the landscape of social media and society?"
