Monday, April 12 - Thursday, April 15, 2021
This event is designed to showcase undergraduate scholarship at Springfield College.
It is an opportunity for undergraduate students to share their hard work with the Springfield College community.
We are proud to be celebrating 17 years of this great event!
This year, Scholars in Action will occur over four days in an entirely virtual environment due to the pandemic. Due to the lead time required for organizing an online conference, we cannot accept last-minute registrations as we have in the past. You can return to the Registration Form to submit your Abstract/Presentation Description or any presentation files by the deadline.
Please talk to your faculty sponsor if you anticipate problems meeting this deadline.
Since we will be hosting the conference through Whova, all sessions will be run synchronously with conference participants in (virtual) attendance during their scheduled session. All sessions will be scheduled to conform with the regular class schedule, including the community hours. The schedule will be finalized and shared with the college community shortly after the registration deadline on April 7.
Faculty, if you have specific requests for when you would like your students to present their work, please contact Matt Ferrari.
In addition to submitting a pdf of your poster, we strongly encourage student presenters to submit a link to a brief video explaining their research project for attendees to view beforehand. All student participants should expect to be present on Whova for the full period of their assigned poster session, in order to respond to questions about their work from attendees. If all students cannot be present during the session, at least one student must be in attendance. If students choose not to submit a video, they can expect to present their work during their session.
Anyone in the Springfield College community is encouraged to attend! If you are presenting, you will be automatically registered for the event when you submit your work. All other attendees will need to get a registration ticket HERE. After the schedule is finalized, attendees can visit the Whova Scholars in Action Days website (or via the mobile app) to start viewing abstracts, posters, and videos, and begin planning for sessions they want to attend. Student presenters will be present during the sessions for Q & A.
General questions about the Scholars in Action Days can be sent to Matt Ferrari, Coordinator of Student Research.
Questions about content in the online program can be sent to Quoc Pham, Administrative Associate.
For questions about your project type, category, or abstract, please contact your faculty sponsor.
