Librarians and library staff are working both on campus and remotely. The best way to contact individual library staff members is via email; see the Library Staff Directory for contact information.

Research Help:  Request a virtual appointment with a reference librarian. Librarians are available to meet on Zoom, Google Hangouts, or by phone.

Online Resources:  Library Services provides access to a wide variety of online resources, including full-text articles, ebooks, and streaming video. Start with Quick Search to explore library resources, use a specific database from the Database List, or find a Research Guide in your subject area.

Follow Library Services on Facebook or Instagram for more news and updates.

Physical Materials

The library’s physical collections, including print books and DVDs, are available for checkout to patrons on campus, in on-campus quarantine, and studying and working remotely. Library materials are available for standard borrowing periods during the summer.

On-campus patrons: To request physical items from the library collection, first locate available items using Quick Search and select "Place Hold (Springfield Campus Only)" to submit your request. Items that have been placed on hold will be available to pick up at the Information Desk in the Learning Commons. You will receive an email when your items are ready for pick up.

Remote Patrons: Items from the library collection can be shipped to you at home. Please submit your requests as Interlibrary Loans, following the instructions for remote patrons below.

Returning materials: On-campus patrons can return books and other library items using the Book Drop located in the entrance of the Learning Commons. Remote patrons should mail items back using the prepaid UPS return label included with your book delivery. Please contact the Interlibrary Loan staff at libraryill@springfieldcollege.edu if you need to request a shipping label for your items.

Interlibrary Loan

All Interlibrary Loan services are available, though some services are on a reduced schedule. Requests for articles and book chapters will be delivered electronically to patrons' library accounts. Requests for physical items will be processed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

On-campus patrons: When submitting ILL requests, select "Springfield, MA" as your campus. ILL materials will be available to pick up at the Information Desk in the Learning Commons. If you leave campus with ILL books, please contact libraryill@springfieldcollege.edu to request a UPS shipping label to return the items.

Remote patrons:  Main campus students, faculty, and staff who are studying remotely should select "Remote" as their campus when submitting an ILL request. ROCE students should select their regional campus or "Online." Update your mailing address in the ILL request form if necessary. All items will be shipped to you via UPS Day Air with a prepaid UPS return label.

Please see the Interlibrary Loan page for more information, and contact our ILL staff at libraryill@springfieldcollege.edu with any questions.
